BURNING EXPERIMENT RESULTS
Переглядів 7814 роки тому
In this experiment we are burning wood in a small coffee can and pulling the burn gasses through a water bath. I mistakenly said 50 pounds of water in the video. We actually started with 40 pounds in the tank. This was about 4.5 gallons. The end result was 39.3 gallons left in the tank. The water turned brown and smelled of smoke and had an oily residue with surprisingly little sedimentation. T...

This is our 375 pound , 13 blade, 30 inch diameter Tesla turbine. The blades are 10 gauge spaced with 14 gauge spacers between the plates. Final top speed was 1900 RPM. The nozzle is a 3/32 throat converging diverging nozzle with chocked flow using 70 CFM of compressed air. Rotational kinetic energy can be calculated for those interested. A seal between the casing and the rotor was installed to...
REJUVENATION OF DEAD LEAD ACID BATTERY WITH OLD LAPTOP CHARGER

Recharge batteries that refuse to take a charge. The charger is an old laptop charger i had laying around for years. It is a 24 volt 1.73 amp charger. This process did not happen fast. But has proven to be very reliable and hassle free. I have been able to rescue and fully bring back 75% of all batteries using this process. The only way to de-sulfate a completely dead battery i have found is to...

    As a veteran fabricator/Boilermaker I must say I love this project. However, it would be much more thermodynamically efficient to run that engine with a gassifaction/combustion system rather than steam wouldn't it?

    What did you mean by, " Good luck fellow engineers. You wont figure that one. Have a good day." I watched your early years video. It would appear by your comment that you have become rude and arrogant in this process. 😢 I use to brag about your accomplishments. Now, I'd rather not share or like your vidoes...even considering unsubscribing.

    The housing outlets need to constrict all the way in to the disc ports, and the input angle is creating a lot of turbulence, it should be tangent to the discs. Losing a lot of power here.

    It is only a generator if the speed at which the motor is spinning is greater than its syncrhonous speed. Otherwise, it is just a motor with a load on its shaft.

    Ever since Justin Trudeau introduced this insane carbon tax, I have turned off the electric heat and I burn rubber tires in my wood stove saved $350 last month. When I look at your videos, I see that you are ahead of the curve in terms of the common knowledge about this type of energy harnessing/energy production. I’d been watching this area for a few years to see how things developed. Looks like energy storage is a significant part of solution. I prefer steam because in a cold climate, excess heat is of value. In summer electricity use for cooling has big demand, and solar is abundant. In winter we have a lot less solar, and require heating burning fuel is necessary. Really like your ideas ! Thanks for sharing your work !

    Very inefficient and wastes a lot of steam

    • @TrumpSupremacist
      @TrumpSupremacist Місяць тому

      The efficiency difference between a converted 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder internal combustion engine (ICE) and a purpose-designed triple-expansion steam engine would be significant, largely due to fundamental differences in design, thermodynamics, and operating principles. Converted 2.4L I4 ICE as a Steam Engine Design Limitations: ICEs are optimized for combustion cycles, not steam expansion. Their cylinder geometry, valve timing, and materials are not ideal for handling steam efficiently. ICEs typically operate with high RPMs and short power strokes, which are mismatched to the slower, longer strokes ideal for steam power. Thermal Efficiency: A converted ICE steam engine would suffer from poor thermal efficiency. The single expansion nature of its cylinders wastes much of the available steam energy, as the steam is not expanded gradually to extract the maximum work. Energy Recovery: Without a mechanism like a condenser or multiple stages of expansion, it cannot recover as much energy from the steam as a triple-expansion engine. Practical Output: The output would be limited due to suboptimal steam flow, lack of pressure stage optimization, and potential mechanical issues from operating outside its intended design. Purpose-Designed Triple-Expansion Steam Engine Optimized for Steam: Triple-expansion engines divide the steam's work across three cylinders (high-pressure, intermediate-pressure, and low-pressure), each optimized for a specific pressure range. This staged expansion ensures that as much energy as possible is extracted from the steam. Thermal Efficiency: These engines achieve significantly higher thermal efficiency because the steam’s energy is used progressively, reducing energy loss. Condensers and reheaters further improve this efficiency by lowering the exhaust pressure. Mechanical Robustness: Triple-expansion engines are built with materials and designs specifically suited to handle steam's high temperatures and pressures, ensuring reliability and longevity. Practical Output: They deliver consistent power with less wasted energy and better fuel-to-output ratios compared to a converted ICE. Quantitative Efficiency A converted ICE used as a steam engine might achieve thermal efficiencies of 5-10%, given the limitations in design and steam utilization. A well-designed triple-expansion steam engine can achieve efficiencies of 20-25%, which is significantly higher due to its staged energy extraction and optimized steam flow. Conclusion While converting a 2.4L I4 ICE to steam power could demonstrate feasibility for repurposing existing hardware, its efficiency would fall far short of a purpose-built triple-expansion engine. The triple-expansion engine, designed specifically to optimize the thermodynamic potential of steam, remains vastly superior for steam power applications.

    U ever thought about using the same principle to run a engine using vaporizer coils to replace the injectors.. the coils would be in an oxygen free environment so they don't explode. I think it would increase hp ans economy several times. Sorta like boiling fuel and lighting the fumes.
